Half asleep, stumbling, and dazed
We step out to our misty haze
Romantic minds that dream
of the velvety blankets of green
over which we’ll see
but really we stumble into
an unexpected space
which will set us all in grace
They sang their songs we’d come to learn,
they sang the ones we’d heard before,
yet plucked and played in their own way.
But in truth,
it was the silence I’d never heard,
which struck a chord,
in me.
And yes, the velvet green did greet,
along with all its cows and sheep
but little did I forsee,
everything broken meant the most to me
Much more than covers and lovers, sheep and green,
it was the
Fragments and silence,
the borders and violence
which spoke the most to me.
